Agilent 1100 HPLC System with VWD and Quaternary Pump Overview
The Agilent 1100 HPLC System with VWD and Quaternary Pump is a full gradient HPLC built from 1100 Series modules, and it costs a good deal less than a newer-generation stack. The quaternary pump blends up to four solvents, so a lab can run gradients or switch between mobile phases without changing the plumbing. The variable wavelength detector measures UV absorbance at whatever wavelength the method calls for.
The autosampler injects each vial in turn, the degasser removes dissolved gas from the solvents, and the thermostatted column compartment holds the column at a set temperature. The system also ships with a computer loaded with a data system. Pharmaceutical laboratories use the Agilent 1100 HPLC System with VWD and Quaternary Pump for assay and impurity testing, environmental laboratories use it for UV-absorbing contaminants in water, and food and beverage laboratories use it for additives and preservatives.
