The Agilent 7890B GC with 5977A MSD pairs a 7890B gas chromatograph, configured with a single split/splitless (SSL) inlet, with a 5977A mass selective detector. A single inlet and column keep the flow path simple, which suits laboratories that run one validated method at a time and want a clean, easy-to-maintain GC-MS. The 7890B supplies the electronic pneumatics control (EPC) and a fast, multi-ramp oven, and the 5977A scans from 1.6 to 1050 u at unit mass resolution. On the mass spectrometer side, the 5977A offers scan rates up to 12,500 u/s. Its SIM mode handles up to 60 ions in each of 100 groups, so you can run full-scan screening and targeted quantitation on the same instrument.
