Description

Agilent Cary 8454 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer Overview

The Cary 8454 uses a 1024-element diode array detector (DAD) to capture the full UV-Vis spectrum simultaneously, rather than scanning wavelength by wavelength — enabling full-spectrum acquisition in as little as 0.1 seconds. Because the design has no moving parts, it delivers stable, reproducible results with minimal maintenance over time.

A dual lamp setup — a deuterium lamp for the UV range and a tungsten lamp for the visible and short-wave near-infrared range — covers the full 190 to 1100 nm wavelength range. This configuration uses a standard single-cell sample compartment with direct access for efficient sample handling, and pre-aligned, easily replaceable lamps keep routine maintenance simple.

The system runs on Agilent’s UV-Vis ChemStation software, supporting spectrum acquisition, multi-wavelength analysis, kinetic measurements, and quantitative calibration curve construction, with built-in support for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) compliance.

This Agilent Cary 8454 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer is offered fully refurbished and tested, in working condition, by Alliant Scientific.
