Description

Agilent 7890B GC with Wasson-ECE Dual TCD & 4 Sampling Valves Overview

The Agilent 7890B GC with Wasson-ECE Dual TCD & 4 Sampling Valves is a gas analysis chromatograph built by Wasson-ECE Instrumentation on the Agilent 7890B platform. It pairs two thermal conductivity detectors (TCDs) with four rotary gas sampling and switching valves that route gas samples through six columns.

One TCD runs on nitrogen carrier gas and the other on helium carrier gas, each with its own electronic pressure control for reference and makeup flow. Sample loops of 0.5 mL, 0.25 mL, and 0.5 mL meter the gas sample on the sampling valves. The valves and several columns sit in an auxiliary oven, while Column 2 is a capillary column in the programmable main oven.

The TCDs identify hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, an oxygen/argon composite, ammonia, and water. Each has a lower detection limit of 0.1% (1,000 ppm).

The system needs helium and nitrogen at 99.999%+ purity and 80 psig. Gas samples can be introduced at up to 400 psig. The 7890B base provides electronic pneumatic control with 0.001 psi pressure setpoint precision and an oven range of ambient +4°C to 450°C.

This Agilent 7890B GC with Wasson-ECE Dual TCD & 4 Sampling Valves is offered fully refurbished and tested, in working condition, by Alliant Scientific.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is Wasson-ECE?

Wasson-ECE Instrumentation builds custom-configured GC analyzers on Agilent GC platforms, adding valves, columns, and auxiliary ovens to meet specific gas analysis needs.

What does this system detect?

The TCDs identify hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, an oxygen/argon composite, ammonia, and water. Each has a lower detection limit of 0.1% (1,000 ppm).

Why does it use two carrier gases?

One TCD path runs on helium and the other on nitrogen, so each column set and detector pairs with the carrier gas that suits it.

What gas purity and pressure does it need?

Helium and nitrogen at 99.999%+ purity and 80 psig. Gas samples can be introduced at up to 400 psig.

How many valves and columns does it have?

Four rotary valves and six columns.

Does this unit include a warranty?

Yes — this unit ships with a 90-day warranty.
