Dionex AS40 Automated Sampler Overview
The Dionex AS40 Automated Sampler is a rugged, metal-free autosampler for ion chromatography. It loads samples into a sample loop or onto a concentrator column. A simple front-panel layout keeps operation straightforward.
The AS40 holds disposable PolyVials in 0.5 mL and 5 mL sizes. Its 11 cassettes hold either six 5 mL vials or eight 0.5 mL vials each, for 66 to 88 samples per load. Filter caps with a 20 micron pore size filter each sample automatically as it is delivered. A positive displacement mechanism pushes sample against back pressure of up to 690 kPa (100 psi). Loop injections deliver at about 4 mL/min.
Concentrator loading runs at about 0.4 mL/min with 0.5 mL vials or 1 mL/min with 5 mL vials. Each vial can supply one, two, or three injections, in proportional or constant volume mode. A bypass valve clears excess sample and trapped air before sampling. Rinse vials can be placed anywhere in the sequence. An output relay signals when a load is complete.
