Why Alliant?

We offer two defining advantages as your scientific instrument supplier. First, our founder is a professor emeritus of environmental engineering with decades of experience with scientific instruments. This depth of technical and practical expertise means we genuinely understand the instruments we offer—we are far more than brokers or resellers.

Second, and equally important, is our uncompromising commitment to delivering exactly what we promise. We stand firmly behind every instrument we supply. Our services include repair, service contracts, onsite installation, instrument familiarization, comprehensive training, and analytical method development in most regions of the world—an Alliant hallmark that consistently distinguishes us from the competition.

As a pre-owned scientific instrumentation company, we offer instruments at various conditions and warranty terms as described below. Most resellers, if not all, advertise their instruments as refurbished even though they are barely tested to work or function. As our commitment to the scientific community, we refuse to misrepresent our work. Our systems come with documentation with a list of work done, parts replaced and more importantly with test reports.

Brand New OEM: These are Products distributed by Alliant on behalf of the manufacturer, or through the manufacturer’s US-based subsidiary.  Such Products are typically drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer; and carry the manufacturer’s standard OEM warranty. All warranty claims, issues or return requests for OEM must be submitted directly to the manufacturer, in accordance with the manufacturer’s policies and procedures.

Brand New: These are Products that are brand new but do not come directly from the manufacturer, or for which the original manufacturer warranty has expired, even though the Products have never been used except for Alliant’s internal testing to verify proper operation.  These Products include180-Day limited warranty from Alliant.  If there is a defect discovered during the warranty period, Alliant will, solely at its discretion, repair or replace them, or refund the purchase price.  The Customer is responsible for all shipping and handling costs, including round‑trip transportation of the Products for any warranty evaluation, repair, or replacement.

Premium-Refurbished: These are used Products, including those previously utilized solely for demonstration purposes. During Alliant’s refurbishment process, all consumables and all parts identified in the manufacturer’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) Protocols are replaced with brand‑new components, regardless of their existing condition. The Products are then tested to ensure performance at a PM‑Performed level.  Each Premium Refurbished or Demo Products are supplied with (i) a detailed list of all parts replaced; and (ii) test reports documenting the performance verification and refurbishment results.

Refurbished: These products are tested for functionality; and all parts necessary for proper operation are replaced during the testing and refurbishment process.  These Products come with a list of all parts replaced and test reports documenting the functionality and performance evaluation. These products include a 30-day hardware warranty.  

Self-Tested: These instruments power up and pass the self-test & initialization, if 
applicable, without any error messages; and only guaranteed to this extent for 3 days after the delivery—it can only be returned if it fails to turn on and fail the initialization/self-test. After 3 days, the sale becomes final; and it can only be returned if it fails to turn on and fail the initialization/self-test.

Parts Unit: These instruments are strictly offered as-is, for parts only. All sales are as-is, final, and non-returnable.
